brake control
I am a new member so I could use a little input on trailer brake controllers. I have a 2007 F-350 pick-up with a 6.0. I wanted to install a factory set up. A few years ago I saw that the controller was mounted in the cubby hole in the dash where the four auxiliary switches are. But when I ordered the brake controller from my local dealer part #5C3Z 19H332 BA it was way different than the one I saw before. This one mounts in the dash above the ash tray. What am I missing here?

Sounds like the one above the ash tray is the correct controller for the years 2011-present.
Three thing you will need to make this happen;
1. TBC module for the correct year
2. Master cylinder with 2 electrical connectons on the bottom.
3. Ford or someone with the software to enable it.
On a side note, when the TBC is enabled, make sure they unchecked the reset for the hour meter or it will be sent back to 0. I don't think you need to even ask how I know....

In general, considering the work involved to install an OEM system in your truck, you might be better off with a newer and much more versatile after market controller.
