Speedometer Going Crazy

Speedometer Going Crazy.
2002 Excursion, 5.4, Auto Transmission, 246800 miles.

Put key in ignition and immediately noticed no odometer display. Put it in drive, Odometer began to register but SPEEDOMETER fluctuated wildly. Reading the posts as best as I could, I replaced the VSS sensor on Rear Diff, and no change in symptoms.

Can anyone help me here? i don't want to replace sensors just to replace them. gets costly ( disabled Vet, limited income). I appreciate any help you may offer. Thank you.

Also try to disconnect battery, let sit, and reconnect.

Have you recently driven in deep water? Or wash your engine bay?

Crazy speedo

No recent driving in water.
Update, took to Ford, they say it's a bad instrument cluster. Sent it off to circuit board medics in Columbia SC
