Lets get back on topic....I'll lead off.

I did the same thing January 2009.

I was helping a buddy move in 30-40 degree weather (big mistake 1), lift struts were shot (mistake 2), and so I used a broomstick to prop it open (mistake 3).

I was shoving a few boxes in, accidentally knocked the broomstick, the hatch slammed shut and a shower of glass rained down. $200 later, I was good to go again since my insurance wasn't cool enough to pay for it.

 

That's a lot less than I would have expected... still going to try not to do it!

 

That was ONLY becuase one of my chick-friends knew somebody and they hooked me up. I wasn't working at the time and would hate to imagine how much it would've been retail
