Did a coolant flush, switched to CAT ELC and changed T-stats, started it Friday night by draining coolant and then finished it yesterday morning. I used 1 gallon of restore + and about 25 gallons of distilled water, after the water was coming out clean I changed both thermostats and buttoned it all back up and refilled with then ELC. I wasn't having any issues prior and my temps (deltas) have always been good but with the truck being 5 years old I wanted to get the gold out!! Currently have just over 43,000 miles on her and she's running great!

6.0 exhaust manifolds

Just recently put 6.0 exhaust maniflods with new up pipes. ( belw the belows of the old up pipe 800 miles into a 3600 mile trip.) What a pain mod to do with out a lift or crane to remove the body. Huge gains in lowering the EGT's. I would guess it lowered them about 150 degrees pulling my 18,000lb trailer over a steep grade and was able to maintain a high rate of speed. (45mph was producing 1350 deg, 55-60 mph 1150-1200 deg.)

I've been thinking about putting one on mine... Did you buy a complete kit or did you buy a filter and base and set it up on your own?

Wow I don't know that I ever heard of doing that before. Are the manifolds from the 6.0L that much bigger or simply more flow friendly by design?

Flow

The runners are longer and the exit is radius-ed better. You have the do the up pipes and manifolds together. Besides being tight going in, you have to redesign the heat sheild on the passenger side at the A/C compressor. Since I had to raise the cab to replce the blown drivers up pipe, I decided to do it all. I was already EGR deleted.

Well I fed my truck another 82L of fuel. Then drove it about 70 km. That's about all I do to it nowadays. Put in fuel, then burn it and turn some kilometers on... Hmm, I should drain the water separator again.

Got that done. Didn't appear to be any water in it so that's a good thing.

Yes, that's 217,000 miles.

It's at the beginning of this thread where I changed the camshaft and lifters. Also added the H&S Mini Maxx at the same time. That was in October of 2014.

Truck had 334,303 km (207,XXX miles) at that time.
