Man, you would think they design it to be water proof, being that it's outside all the time.

They did when new... It is from the 70's, so a bit of wear over the years. The 856 is from the 60's.

Can you get new seals, or whatever it would need to fix it?

If I knew what was letting it through I would... I can't identify what could be doing it.

Other than driving my neighbors 756 with the German (I think that's the Country) diesel only a few times I haven't been around the old IH's since I was a little kid. We had a 756 gas, 1056 and a 1456 in the late 80s when Dad started farming with my uncle. Since I don't have anything nice to say about any of them I'll leave it as there unique.

Spent Saturday on my daughter's first college visit... Didn't get too far away from home though. (U of I) She wants to do Biomed Engineering, so it is going to be a fairly short list... especially with eyes being what she wants to focus on... (no pun intended..)

So I finally have a Super Duty turbo on it's way to me to put onto my OBS 7.3 Powerstroke... who wants to help install it?

I still need to get a new exhaust manifold for it though. And new up-pipes. I have two sets of OEM ones, but I figure that I'll just cough up the money for some baffled ones and only have to deal with it once.

This is a project pretty long in the making. I've had an inter-cooler for my truck for quite a while, with everything to make it work other than the Super Duty turbo. Now that I have one on the way, well, it might be time for me to start looking at actually putting more parts on my truck. Only problem is that while I do the exhaust manifold and up-pipes would be a perfect time to do a transmission swap for my 4x4 conversion. And that means I would have to find a transmission for it...

Just never ends does it? I need to keep working at getting the IDI back to road worthy, then there is the 5 speed swap... Sucks because the clutch for the 4 speed is fairly new. Then I managed to get my hands on a complete parts truck, well mostly complete...

Good morning Iowa. With the cost of diesel so high compared to gas, I've been kicking around the idea of trading off my diesel for a gasser. Don't have the boat anymore to haul around, so its getting tough to justify having the diesel. I hate the thought of giving up the roomy cab, for a -150, though.

So maybe it's time to start burning oil?

I would if I could set it up, but I don't have the room or the time to chase oil down!
