original wheels tubeless? Radials?

The title kinda sais it all. Can you run a radial tire obviously without a tube safely on a 15" stock original rim for a 55 f100. Thanks

I just put radials on my stock 55 F250 rims. So I sure hope it's fine.
I'm pretty sure lots of guys have done it. Your tire guy shouldn't put tires on a rim he doesn't feel are safe.

I had radials on my original 16" wheels on my 54 F100 from the time I got it fixed up and painted in 1999 until about 3 years ago. The national chain store would not put radials on my wheels but the local garage did. I had no problems at all.

The radials made the truck ride smoother but made it a bear to steer at slow speeds like when parking. Three years ago I put bias plies on the front. Steering is now a breeze. Tomorrow I am putting bias plies on the rear.

May I ask where you got the bias plies?

I got the bias plies at a local tire shop. They are Excelsior brand.

Thanks, I've looked at Coker and they aren't cheap. Universal tire was better in price.

Those look like the one on my left front.... I could barely read it with all the cracking and all, but I think it said Mobil Tire M-3
I like that look.

Mine are Firestones. If I could plan my needs better, it may have been possible to save some shipping costs by arranging a pickup from Coker at a swap meet. Oh well.
