1966 ford f100 value?

I am looking at buying a 1966 ford F100. I need to know about how much I should offer for it. it has a 352 motor and a 4speed transmission. it does run but don't know if it will move.

Welcome to the forum. I bought mine a 65 2 months ago and it sat for over ten years. I took the owners word that it was a good running truck when he parked it. He had some major medical issues so I believed him but I negotiated a price of $950.00 I towed it home, cleaned out the gas tank and it fired right up. Has a 352 and a 4 speed. it is a rust free California truck.

I see a lot for sale from 500 bucks on up. I would say anywhere from 1,000 to 2,000 if there id no rust. If the body is good that's a biggie right there. Some people think they have a gold mine and want way too much.

Looks like this one has a custom cab with a chrome bumper and an aluminum grill. Is that a flatbed? too dark to tell back there.

Make a low offer and negotiate the price.

good luck.

Got any better pics? Looks like a nice grill and front trim and the chrome bumper looks fairly straight as well.

Tbird summed it up decently. What shape is the body in any patch panels needed? Looks like some rust starting on the hood some more info is needed and location is also a factor to give a round about answer as to what it's worth.

You can not pay to much for a F-100 but you can buy it too early. If you think it is a fair price and want it, but it.

If it will run on it's own power, doesn't knock or smoke, and shifts smoothly, it ought to be worth $1000 - $1500.

I think I saw someone on here state whatever you're thinking about putting into it, double it and then add 10%.

It would be safe to say add another 30% because you just don't know what will happen.

These trucks like to play tricks. what looks good on a quick glance/inspection can unfold into a rusty pile falling apart as you watch. Be sure to know what your getting into before you start. Seen many projects fail because the owner didn't know how deep he was in.

Man I re did my grandpa truck and it was unbelievable the amount of hidden rust damage once I tore into it.
I expected that, but it's more time work money tools parts paint under coat primer rust removal body putty welder grind you get the idea.
Take your time and look all over, evaluate what you'll have to do and consider that in your offer.
If I was looking to buy one I think I'd literally write a list of things I knew I'd have to deal with, research costs on that, figure there'll be more than what I see, then take all that into consideration in my offer.

just from the photo there is about 600.00 in sellable parts right off the bat so I would try to get it for under 800.00 if possible . Just in case it has hidden issues that makes it a money pit and you decide to scrap it out .

Truck appears to have been sold new as a Cab & Chassis, then the owner installed an aftermarket enclosed on three sides platform type bed.

The Western Junior (aka West Coast) mirrors on this truck were part of the Camper Special package, also optional on other F100/350's.

Without a pickup bed, IMO, it's only worth about 500 bucks...if it's not rusty.

The truck is located in a state where it snows and so they use salt on the roads.

Look for rust under the floor mat, at the radiator support and cab mounts, cab corners and rocker panels, frame cross members, rear of front fenders, leading edge of hood.

Use a magnet to search for hidden bondo.

The drip rails on these trucks are notorious for rusting out.

The drip rails were separate parts, when Ford welded them to the roof, they used paintable caulk to fill in the gaps and smooth them out.

The caulk hardens and chips off, water seeps in, rust begins. If not noticed in time...will spread into the roof.

You think you bought an old truck, but what you really bought is a hobby. And hobbies tend to be expensive.

Lol, hobbies are expensive and between my 71 F250 and my newly acquired 64 F250 I am learning the hard way. I can't give you a price but if you are like me and love something to drive out in the country with you can't beat one of these old beautys.

CHECK THIS PRICE

Cruising on evil bay I found this 66 along with many others that were really high priced.

Do these Hollywood TV shows influence some of the outrageous prices.

Go to eBay and search "Ford F-100" you will find a bunch with big prices and some have multiple bids. I can't figure out eBay?

Nice truck only 20 Grand, no bids.

Check evil bay photos here.

A RUSTY UNIBODY
Rusty Unibody only 2,500 bucks, no bids.
