It's gone - now what?

Just sold the F3. I think I also got FTE a new enthusiasts. Got a fair price and his wife was a deciding factor as she said "That cute truck would look good on the farm". You should have seen the smile on his face when she said that!!!!
Now I have to find something I can fit in and drive with these legs and back - oh for a fat fender extended cab at the right price!

Bittersweet, I am sure, but congrats anyway. I am sure you will find something that you can have fun working on that will work better for you.

Wow, that didn't take long! Did you give it away?! I've often thought it would be neat to have a pocketful of money and start over in this hobby. Sounds like an old car might suit your back better than a truck. An early '60's Buick or Olds rides like on pillows...

I had two people interested and got my price of $5000 for it. It still needs work so I'm happy. I would love a bigger cab automatic but even that may be a problem. Ross, you are probably right. As a kid I had a 62 T-Bird that I loved and always loved the e-type Jags (they are a distant cousin of Ford right, as Ford did own Jaguar for a while) and I can stretch the legs out in one of them. Of course getting in and out may be a challenge. Would you all let me drive one to Truckstock?

My very first car was a '63 TBird, Dave! It could pass anything but a gas station. It rode like a dream at 75 on (new at the time) radials, and more important for you, it had the swiveling seat for easy ingress/egress! Hmmm...

Isn't that a picture of a 62. The three dashes are on rear quarter I thought the 63 had them on an angle on the door? Either way they are great cars. Even the back seat was usable for all kinds of activity!

The 63 had the hashes on the door, and the 61 had the "spears" on the rear, like this:

That's my bird. She's waiting on me to transplant a new heart, so I can get her back on the road.

Thank you. I would've been working on it this summer, but I bought the 48, and it's been taking all my time.

But the wife has been after me about it, so I'll be working on it soon. She's not gonna like the prices on the Summit receipt when I make the order for the 390 internals. Maybe I'll come home early the day that's delivered, and put those boxes in the garage before she comes home.

Hey Dave,
I hear you on the back! That Sciatica is a whole new level of
suffering. The most comfortable car I've owned was an S-Type Jaguar - the smoothest suspension ever made (by Ford). They are practically giving them away now that the new Jaguar body style is out there.

Good luck over there.

Ben I have owned two jag XJ sedans in the past. Bought them as demo cars about two years after Ford took over. They were trying to build goodwill and show they were good cars. Gave us 100,000 mile warranty if a light bulb burned out they replaced it free. They would even come out and fix a flat. They were the best cars I've ever owned. Put over 200 thousand on one and 190+ on the other. My wife traded them in and I was upset.
I could never get in to this body style after that but the E-type is a different story. Have my eye on a 2+2 coupe V12.

"Rose Beige", Wade, not pink I assure you! I had just washed the Illinois salt off it in that picture.
