Hi all, this has probably been discussed many times before but here goes again.
I've got a chance to buy the mentioned truck for next to nothing but the engine knocks or ticks. Doesn't run rough, runs smooth but has the noise.
From what I've read it doesn't have the cam phasers yet..?? Could be timing chain tensioner? Let me know what u think and is this a common problem on these trucks. It has around 200 000 kms.

That's kinda what i thought, can I check this by taking the valve cover off?

 

That will show you a loose chain but the front cover will reveal the most.
