1964 F100 4x2 steering shaft diameter?

Hi I have searched but not found this. Does anyone know the diameter of the stock steering shaft as it comes out of the steering box? I need to cut it and place a coupler or a rag joint for a new column. I have not opened it up yet and would like to order a coupler beforehand. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thank you
