I lost the only key to a 1997 F150 Lariat I purchased recently.

I talked to a locksmith who said I could remove the door lock and bring it to him and he could make a key for the 6-tumbler door lock, and also make an ignition key using the 6-tumbler lock, and adding the variations for the additinal two tumblers needed for the ignition.

I am struggling with how to remove the door lock. any suggestions.
