390 ??? questions?

Hello everyone, new here and of course have questions. The engine I just bought is supposed to be a 390, was driven about a year then truck was wrecked. Has been sitting in a garage for about two years. Only casting number I could find was on intake ( really crowded area ). I know this may not be original intake, but could someone decode it for me please. 4C14 and D4TE9425CB

4C14 Casting date?

D = 1970
4 = 4
TE = truck
9425 = part number

1974 truck intake and that is it. If you want to know which engine you will have to measure the stroke. Statistically it will be a 360 because it was used far more often. As to supposed to be a 390 then see my post about previous owners swearing a lot.

if you can pull the pan, check the casting number on the crank.

2T is 360, 2U is 390
