2002 Expedition 5.4L rattling sound just before shifting at high RPMs
I have a 2002 Ford Expedition 5.4L with 154,000 miles. I've done quite a bit of work on it in the past 9 months. Recently I replaced the #4 Ignition Coil. After that I noticed the vehicle doing the following.
If I accelerate at a controlled pace and never push the throttle down hardit shifts consistently for all gears between 2K and 2.5K RPMs. Seems normal.
If I accelerate at a much faster pace, during the transition from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th it will reach RPMs around 3K - 4K. Near the top end there is a sound like rattling marbles coming from the front of the vehicle. After it shifts or if I take myfoot off the throttle the noise goes away. It does not seem to happen in lower and higher gear transitions or at lower RPMs.
I do not have a CEL.
Any thoughts or suggests would be appreciated.
