New Member from SE Texas - 04 6.0 4x4
New member from SE Texas!
I've owned several Ford products, including mustangs, F-150s, and Focus'. As for diesels, I have only messed with Cummins...and I work with CAT and Detroit at work. I've never owned a Powerstroke. I did some research prior to purchase, and I feel like I have a decent grasp on what needs to be done to make the 6.0 reliable.
My Wife and I have our second child on the way, and decided the 4-Door Jeep Wrangler would be a bit of a hassle with two boys in the backseat. SO, we sold it, and I decided to let her look at Excursions (I've secretly always liked them anyway...). She drove one and loved the interior space and secure feeling of it. So, we ended up buying one.
2004 6.0L 4x4 Eddie Bauer. It has had some of the major items replaced recently, but will still need an oil cooler at some point. Otherwise, it's EGR deleted and has a brand new set of tires on it. The front brakes need to be changed, and it needed a good cleaning after we got it. But, we're happy with it! I drove it home about 350mi from where I bought it, and monitored it the whole way with the Torque Pro App on my Samsung 7" tablet. Other than a high EOT/ECT differential due to the oil cooler being partially clogged, it ran great and everything is operating as it should. I averaged around 18.8mpg hand calc on a 65-75mph average speed, all highway.
Hopefully with all of your help, I can figure out the flaws and keep it going for several years. Thanks, already, to Razzi(sp?) for helping me inspect it and running an AE diagnostic on it, late at night, inconveniently! I owe ya!

Welcome and nice truck, does she have barn yard doors or lust the single?
The 6.0 Can be a nice motor but I'm sure you know the deal, I'm a 7.3 freak and we always argue but it's in good fun and you will have all the info you need right here at FTE!! So enjoy it and start putting some money away for some future upgrades. Good Luck with her

Barn doors, I assume...it has the two horizontal doors on the rear, with the hatch. Do they make a tailgate style rear option??? If so, I'd prefer it.
There is not a fuel pressure reading. The Fuel gauge is the fuel level percentage...not pressure.
Thanks for the welcome.
First thing is brakes!

That is indeed a sweet black beast! I had to try and hide it behind mine so I didn't look inferior

Which rear buckle are you trying to replace? If it's the middle seat, the belt has a tendency to disappear into the holster doohickey.
