My 2006 escape's driver's side rear brake light does not get brighter when braking. It comes on "normal" when the lights are turned on, but doesn't get extra bright. The other side works fine. The CHMLS works fine. Is there a separate wire/connector for braking? How would I go about troubleshooting this? I do have a multimeter.
Sounds like you have a bad bulb, they are 2 filament 1 low for tail lights and 1 higher for braking. its probably a 3157 bulb. just pull the lens off and you will know if the bulb is bad it will be black inside. Replace with new and your good to go!!
Sweet! I bought the bulb already because I thought it was burned out, but I didn't know it was two filament. I'll get it replaced as soon as the wife gets back from her trip. Thanks!
