Shuddering/missing and a P0470 concern.
<hr style="color:#ffffff; background-color:#ffffff" size="1"> Hi all.
2004 6.0 SD Lariat - Bone stock, 225000 km.
It has a violent shuddering on idle that last for 8-15 seconds. It feel like you turn the key on and off very fast and smooths out.
No CEL light - just this P0470.

My question is: can the EBP sensor cause a behavior like this or do I need to look somwhere else?

I will replace as a matter of precausion but are afraid there beeing something else going on.

I couldnt find anything wrong beside the stored P470 - no tests or parameters where out of spec.

Thanks guys,
Helge

EBP has a tube down to the exhaust manifold, make sure it's not plugged and clean the sensor with MAF sensor cleaner. You have to make sure it's bolted together correctly. The other things you can do is clean EGR valve, clean MAF, check MAP tube, these can all cause weird issues. The other sensor is IAT2 in the manifold beside Oil an spud fuel filter base on the drivers side manifold. It gets codpiece up bad and require a soak in MAF cleaner and a soft britsh.

Thank you Sir.
I'll do the things you mentioned starting with replacing the EBP sensor.
I also think I'll just replace the EGR valve as a precaution rather than not.

Seems like a waste to just order parts and replace them.....99% of the time that code can be fixed with cleaning the EBP sensor/tube....

Is MAF sensor cleaner available at most parts stores?
