97 F-250 Doors

The key lock on the driver side door has started acting up on me in the way of it will lock the door just fine but it doesn't want to unlock it. When I turn the key the lock button ( not sure what it's called) in the door will only come up maybe half way and will not unlock the door. At first I had to fiddle with the key and it would unlock but now I have to go thru the passenger side which is very annoying. Is this a common thing with these trucks?

What you're describing sounds to me like the plastic bushings in the driver side door assembly are worn. It should be a pretty easy fix, but it will require removing the inner door panel and getting inside the door to investigate further. It's kind of a pain to do but I'd be willing to bet that a couple plastic bushings would fix you right up. You will probably have to go to the dealership for them, unfortunately.
