will this engine swap?

will a 7.5 out of a 92 f250-350 change out with a 94 f350 with an auto? I can change the intake if it is different. will it bolt to the trans? Guy we are buying from says the heads are different....... but I am skeptical?

thank you

If they are both auto, yes it will bolt right up. The auto and manual transmissions use a different size flex plate. They should have identical intakes, but the heads are different. the 94 will have F3TE heads, and the 92 would have E7TE heads, assuming they are not aftermarket.

If the donor does not have all of that stuff it will be fine for you to use it, but if it is all there I would just leave it alone. The flex plate is the only thing you need.

Not sure I understand, which pickup you are putting it in?

going into the 94 f350. the current engine runs, but has a really bad knock. found an engine that the wiring harness is fubar on, so we hope to swap.

It should work. I'm no expert on EEV-IV PCM's, but I think the fuel curves will be different for the older motor than the new one because of the difference in the heads.

Did the 92 have an E4OD as well? If it did, you might consider swapping the PCM as well.
