Ford no longer makes the GEM module I need...

My GEM in my 2001 F250 is fried, I need a new one. Problem is Ford stopped making the one I need. Called the dealer and they pretty much told me I was SOL... Checked ebay, craigslist, local salvage yards... Nothing. What the crap am I supposed to do? How can they just stop making something like that?

It's because mine doesn't have power windows, power locks, or shift on the fly 4x4... I'm pretty sure all the other ones are available. It's insane though. Am I supposed to scrap a perfectly good truck over a $400 part?

Can you use the other one and just let it delete those functions you do not have?

Parts for ten years. After that, all bets are off. I feel your pain. I can see the confusion ten years from now when all this stuff needs "flashing". Nothing works and no one knows why.

I may be wrong, but I think a company in Fl. rebuilds them . Major something or another . Worth a look .

Part number is 1C3T-14B205-FA.
I'll look into the company in Florida.

Was unable to find the company in Florida, if anyone has additional info on this, please chime in. As common of a problem as these things seem to be, you'd think there would be some kind of aftermarket option.

Negative, none of them are the exact part number, which from what I've read is of great importance. The one on amazon seems extremely sketchy as it is referring to the part as a PCM. $300-$500 is a lot of money for a maybe. It is my understanding, the most crucial section of the part number are the last two letters, because they determine what options the GEM is equipped to handle. There are a lot of options on the various sites that look like they "might" work, but I am leery.

Yes . Needs to be compatible . Where are you located? I have a few salvage yards local that may have it . Have you tried LKQ?

Southern IN, just looked up LKQ, looks like there are three centers within 100 miles of me. Their pages won't open on my browser, so I'll check them out tomorrow at work. Thanks!
