Air conditioning air flow

I drive a motorhome with a v-10 engine. The air conditioning works good but when I climb a steep grade, the loss of vacuum causes the air vent in the air conditioner to close and it will not re-open until I level off. I would like to disconnect the vacuum switch and wire the vent open so that I have a steady flow of air. Is this possible and where do I begin..

Thank you

Wouldn't it be easier to fix the vacuum leak?
