Just bought a 1989 F700 diesel dump, on the shifter is has Reverse, Neutral, Drive, 3, 2, 1, no park. So, I was told to release the parking brake, to start the truck, problem is, don't know where it is. Have looked for a button, a lever and can't find either.
Can't find a owners manual online either and can't find pictures online. Can someone help me out with this.

 

If there is a parking brake pedal try pushing it all the way down, other than that I have nothing. Just had a thought, if it has a pedal and that doesn't release it get down in the floor and look to see if there is a cable running off of the pedal and follow it.

 

If you have hydraulic brakes there should be lever either on the floor or on left side kick panel under the dash.

If you have air brakes you'll find a yellow button on the dash for the spring brakes… maxi-brakes or parking brake whatever you want to call it.

 

Some people make the mistake of calling an L series truck an F series truck.

Post the VIN to verify this is an F700.
