It appears to be a hard plastic material under the vinyl/padding. The piece is plenty rigid yet lightweight. The hardboard or maybe some abs plastic should work.

This is definitely not my area of expertise, but I'm interested in seeing it come together.
Ok. So what I am getting from you guys is that this is nearly the exact same visor as the Lincoln. Light weight, hard plastic. I think ABS plastic would be the best material. Thanks for the input.

Nice project! I'll take a set in light brown, creme or tan please. On second thought, this might be fun to make too... I'd score points with momma.

I wonder if LED lights could be fitted?

Oh no, orders already...lol. Better look into the kind like on a 99 Expedition, that are a 2 in one or the kind that have a slid out length extender....

I can tell you it would be easier to retrofit another visor. The Linconl one I picked up is very similar in size. Just a tad too short.

I'm interested if there is an uptate too! Very helpful so far. I have some I need to rework (wiring is butchered) before I install them in mine.

Different year truck but the basics are the same.

(Mostly, just watching someone else dive in gives me some confidence to tackle mine.)
