New member from AL!
Hello everyone!
My name is Jessica, but I prefer Jessie. I'm from Gulf Shores, AL. Like most folks, I've read the forums for awhile and finally decided to join.
I'm all for Fords; my track record consists of a '72 Ford Torino, a '62 Ford Thunderbird, a '99 F-250, and a '96 F-150. This is further cemented by the fact that I'm apprenticing at a restoration and repair shop with an owner that's a Ford guy himself, allowing me to work around things like this:
I bought an '85 dually with the intent to stick a 460 in it and replace the '96, but time constraints from moving are forcing me to sell that project. However, with the need for more space and a desire to have an older vehicle, I recently picked this up to replace the '96:
'85 6.9L Diesel XLT Lariat F-250 Supercab. While I need to fix a few things on it, it's in great shape(and even has all the original manuals!) and I'm enjoying it immensely.
This is my first time owning a diesel, so it's been a learning experience. I do have quite a bit planned for it and will post what progress I make here to share it with those who might be interested!
Nice to meet you all and I look forward to being an avid poster here.

Haha! The cool thing with that Torino is that while it's a 69 Torino body, is it actually designated as a 1969 Ford Cobra and not a 1969 Ford Torino Cobra like in later years. Kinda like an Oldsmobile 442 is a Cutlass but was it's own model designation until later years when it just became a package!
My T-Bird wasn't much to look at, unfortunately. I picked it up like this:
My boss picked up the 65 Falcon sitting next to it and is currently turning it into a nostalgia gasser. The T-Bird was getting some bodywork done to it and had the engine getting rebuilt before I had to let it go. It was a steal tho' with enough parts in it to build two cars. We planned on cutting the roof of of it and turning it into a pseudo Sports Roadster along with a few other things but you know how these things go.
Thanks for the warm welcome!
