Running strangely out of nowhere.

So a few weeks ago I bought my 96 Powerstroke, and as much as I don't want to, I am going to sell ol' blue because I don't really need two trucks. I've had blue for several years, drove her from coast to coast and literally never had a single issue, until the day I was going to drive her to work for the very last time before I removed her from my insurance and was going to start prepping for sale.

Fires up fine, sounds great and couldn't tell there was anything wrong. After it warmed up I pull out my driveway and notice my tachometer, and I think voltmeter weren't working. Ok, thought that was strange but I pull out on the road and take off up the hill. Got up to about 20 mph and still accelerating and it sputtered back. Hard to explain what it's doing, but after it stalls back down to 1000 rpm, it'll rev back up no problem under load until it hits about 2000-2500 and it'll just stop and kick me back down to 1000.

Last time I had drove her before I had no issues. Parked for a couple weeks, then this.

That sounds like the common burst capacitors issue. Try searching in the forums as it has been covered many times and occasionally with walkthroughs of how to fix it.
