Grill for 70 F250

The grill on my 70 is looking like hell and is actually held on with pieces of bailing wire so I got to looking for new grills. I've decided I'm not paying $500 for a new grill so does anyone make aftermarket grills? Something that is going to keep it looking nice but not cost twice what I paid for the truck.

After market grille for a 1970 truck is $550.00 for the shell only. This is through vendors who may or not be sponsers of this site.
You can find them on ebay or C.L. but the price may be the same. There is one seller on ebay who will rape you on Ford grilles and parts His grilles look nice but they are just driver quality and he lists them for $750.00 to $900.00 avoid this seller. is id is, two numbers followed by two letters followed by two numbers.
Your best bet is to keep searching the wrecking yards for a nice grille.
One thing you have to keep in mind, just because you only paid a small amount for your truck, does not mean that nice parts are cheap. Nice parts cost money. That's just the way it is.
Custom or show quality parts, cost even more.

Oh I know that custom and such are expensive, I was just curious if I had options. I know the guy you're talking about. The grill is 900 which is crazy. I do have this very shady guy looking around and talking to 'people he knows' to find me moulding and the grill.

I figure this is a long term hobby. Fortunately, I've had a 66 Mustang that I put together so I know this isn't quick, cheap or easy.

2x... be patient and one may show up in the salvage yards.

In the mean time, try your hand at hammer n dollying it. 'Might as well if it's hellish already... then shoot it silver to at least make 'er look 'presentable'.

I have two or three 1970 grills (Maybe more). One in excellent shape. The others in good condition. Send your email address to dt1972lr@juno.com. I can get pictures for you this week. Don't spend crazy money on a grill.

One thing is a 70 shell & inner plastic inserts is a one year fit only.

But the whole grille shell from an 71& 72 will fit yours as well.

Their is some custom flat bar grilles for a different look for these classic,
don't know the pricing tho!

But just keep hunting the jy and maybe you'll get lucky.

Just remove with a 1/2" wrench removes the whole shell with the inserts.
Bolts right in. Even the earlier 67,68,6970,71,72, grille shell will interchange, Even the radiator support.

For example: too bad no pic

Does it have to be a F250 grill or will any F series work?

Neat. I'm looking around to see what I can find. A new grill, then comes finding all the chrome.
