Headlight lens crazing

A buddy of mine has a 2007 Expy and I noticed that his headlight lenses are crazing really badly. Is there anything I can do to head this off at the pass, or should I just be resigned to the fact that I'll need to replace my headlights in a couple years? I have a 2010 and always garage ours. His is not garaged.

I have a 08 that has lived outside its whole life and all my lenses are clear. All of my ford logos have bubbled though.

I just used a Mothers Restoration kit on my 08 last week

They are perfectly clear now and it took some work.
(it looked worse and better in person)

The crazing that my buddy has is deep within the plastic. It is not a hazing like you fixed. I have done the Mothers/Mequires/3M headlight restore. I have even done toothpaste (which works for a little while). I did that on an Acura MDX I had. Those results were good but did end up hazing after a couple of months. Well, several months.

Anyway the crazing I'm seeing on my friend's '07 is almost like the lenses were glass and got really hot, then thrown into icewater. Maybe not quite that bad but along those lines. I can't imagine there is anything that will prevent that, other than keeping them out of the sun but who knows. I just wondered if anyone else has seen that. I'll try to get a few pictures of his lenses sometime and add them to the thread.

Like little cracks in the plastic? I have that too, the restoration kits dont do anything for it. You can see some of them in the bottom picture (top let of the yellow reflector)

Headlight depot has the best price I can find on new ones. $216 IIRC

Oh, yes. I see the cracks in your pic. Yes, that is what I'm seeing in my friends.

I guess I'll just keep an eye on it and see how things shake out. Thanks for the Headlights Depot tip.
