Accent color on red

Ok guys. I am at a crossroads here.

I bought another 97 to drive for the winter while I tear my ranger apart.

It has your typical NE rust issues(lower fenders, cab corners and wheel wells)

I am NOT going to dump a ton of money or time into this truck. I am jus going to make it presentable.(no full paint job and IMPOSSIBLE to color match this faded out pink RED))

I am going to fix the rot on the lower portion of the panels and paint the lower portion and the flares an accent color. But I am not a red person so I am not sure what would look good on the red. it has gray interior so i was thinking the Opal that my CCSB is for the accent. But what do you think? Possibly even thinking about doing the accent in bed liner and color tinting it.

Personally I've always liked black on red. So my first choice would be black, and then the Opal.

Black and red, always sexy, would pick up the grayish interior.

White and red, always pops!

How about a red white and blue? Something different without being too redneck? (Not that there is anything wrong with being too redneck.)

Can`t go wrong with black. Silver or gray would be next choice.

The only thing about black is it looks like it is trying to cover up something(since it never was a factory option.

I am Not going to cover up anything, I just don't want to have to repaint the whole truck.

Anyone have any red truck pics with a lower accent color other than white

Honestly, does it really matter if someone "thinks" you're trying to cover something up on a temporary winter beater? And I still think black or gray would look best.

You don't like red and white two tone? Or just with a white accent on the bottom? Because I do agree that a white accent would not look good.

Id prolly put black Berliner on the bottom. If you put red it would make the pink look more pink.

I couldn't find the thread, but there's a guy posting about a truck he's working on. He's repaired / repairing much of the same issues. The truck is red and he's painted the bottom panel sections with a black material. I think it looks really sharp.

Having a red 85 we accented it with black, white, silver and chrome. Turned out real nice.

Bright Silver.

I had one of my customers buy a tan F150 SC and had the body shop put a mauve two tone on it...

When I go to sell the truck in the winter/early spring I don't want to hear ....."O, you just spray bed lined the rust" Like EVERYONE else does around here

Actually a red with white in the middle is very sharp, But there I go getting into Full paint job

My brother says the same thing. But it needs cab corners and flower fender patches. Both will drastically reduce the price and I can fix them both in a weekend

I understand not wanting to do a full paint job, but I guess I didn't look at the selling end of it.

Anyone buying the truck should look at it close enough to see you're not covering anything up.

No. people just like to make assumptions. Like the flares on my CCSB. Had some A-hole say, "boy it is too bad you have rusty wheel wells"
