I bet Summit has an aluminum block off plate for your engine. They are quite common. Also easy to make from some 1/4" aluminum stock.

Its a Carter electric pump. And yes, you can get a fuel pump block off plate from probably the same have you end up getting the fuel pump from. Some are plain steel, others chrome, billet, etc.

You either buy a block off plate or make one. Most speed parts catalogs have them

I think I got mine at Napa. It was a shiny chrome thing for a 350 GM that bolted right up on the 6 banger. Not sure on the v-8 though.

Personally I wouldn't use one of those clunky old farm truck trannys when there are so many (cheap) overdrives that bolt to a small block Ford. I've used a couple of the ZF 5 speeds and love them. They are an internal juice clutch and pretty easy to hook up to a clutch master cylinder. The lighter duty Mazda 5 speeds are cheaper and easier to find but I dislike the really high reverse gear. You''l smoke the clutch trying to back a trailer up an incline.
