will a chevy camper shell fit my F250?

I've got a 2000 F250, extended cab, short bed. I need to borrow a camper shell for a trip from Northern Cal to central Oregon to pickup some furniture (gotta plan for rain when traveling to Oregon). A buddy has a early 2000s full size chevy pickup, 4 door, with shortbed and camper shell. Any idea if this would fit? I dont wanna ask if there is no way it will fit, since I'm already borrowing his enclosed trailer for the trip.

I currently have a cabover camper on my truck, so it's hard to do a quick measurement.

Thanks for any info!

When I researched this a yr ago the answer I found is NO. Superduty beds are narrower at the rear window than at the tailgate.

If I where you I would measure your friends and see how far off it is. For just a short trip it may work enough.

Also the bed rail under the rear window is lower so you may need to add some weather stripping to your truck to fill the gap.

A U-haul trailer would probably be easier. A 6x12 cargo trailer, 1 way rental from Portland OR to Redding CA is $172.00.

Thanks for the info. Since it's about 1000 miles round trip, I wont mess with the Chevy camper shell. I'm on the lookout for a cheap beater shell, but I'll also hope for sunny weather.

I'm already bringing a 10' enclosed trailer (similar to Uhaul) but need more room.

it depends.

I currently have a 1999 dogde leer 122 shell on my 2008 f-350 that was installed on a chevy before I got it.

If it is a leer cap, you get the serial number you can call leer and they will tell you if it will work or why it wont.

There is also a leer PDF on the internet with the sizes of all leer caps and all model year trucks.
