5.0L Coyote problems

Lots of views, no replies. I have not heard of any major or frequent problems, either. Well the misfire/stumble from factory over-gapped plugs but that is hardly a major issue. And some people believe the low mounted alternator is a problem in wet conditions, but it hasn't been for me.
Since you specifically asked about the plugs, I can say (since I've replaced mine) that Ford has learned from their previous experience Curious to see about the cam hardware as people rack up miles, though.

Same deck height, bore spacing, main journal diameter, head bolt pattern, rod length, etc.
Oiling system and the basic valve train are also the same, the primary difference being the CTA cam phasers.
The 5.0 is just a Gen 2 Modular.
The 5.0s do not have spark plug issues, nor has any previous 4V Modular.

I haven't heard of any other than that cylinder issue on the first couple years as mentioned above.
I think the Coyote will go down as one of the best V8 engines ever designed. It's really a shame that it came at a time where Ford frankly doesn't give a flying f**** about V8's and will probably abandon it.

Something that most probably do not even think about is the sound it makes.
While I don't know why, it seems to make sweeter music to my ears than many other V8 engines do.
I like spinning the coyote to 6000 just to hear it sing.
While most V8 engines sound good...some sound better than others to me.

First off let me start by saying i am not mechanically inclined..... at all. I have a 2011 Ford F-150 FX4 5.0 always use full synthetic 5W20 Motorcraft oil every 5k miles (at 110k miles currently), my last oil change was on Monday and the tech at the ford dealer said it looked like I have a slight rear main seal leak. (I check the oil every couple of days, always have, habit after owning a 5.4 and 4.6 Interceptor) I have noticed the oil being low recently and didn't think anything of it because it hasn't really been all that low maybe a quart over the course of 5k miles. I never see any oil drips in the driveway. After reading about rear main seal leaks I am now terrified, do i fix it? do I just keep adding oil until it gets worst? is it even a rear main seal or is it an oil pan gasket?..... the worst part is after giving my girlfriend all sorts of crap about how my 5.0 is better than her '09 5.4 this happens

The 5.0 Coyote engine is by far the BEST engine Ford has made in decades. I just purchased a used 2015 F150 4x4, SuperCrew and now own two cars with the Coyote engine under the hood. The other car is it's little brother, a 2016 Mustang GT Premium. Both in Ruby Red! And soon to have matching painted on stripes! My Coyotes have been trouble free since day one. Very smooth and powerful. The old 5.4 ltr had a propensity to launch the plugs from the heads or break the spark plugs off in the heads if the truck was built pre-2008. no longer an issue.
