I have a 2011 F250 that I bought new. It only has 18000 miles on it. I have noticed a faint smell of anti freeze occasionally. I do not see any drips anywhere and the levels in the bottles are normal. I called a local dealer and they said they could not check anything if it wasn't leaking. I'm concerned since my 3 years are getting close. Any thoughts or recommendations?

I would take a good look at your radiator, they seem to be a common point of failure on these models. They will most often start seeping from the seam where the end tanks meet the core. I may only be dripping at this point, but it will get worse.

 

Check on the drivers side. Look thru the wheel well at the radiator petcock. Use a flashlight if you need to too.

 

If you pressure tested it, and it didn't hold, that would give the dealer the probable cause to check into it further I would think

 

Do you smell it while parked in the garage or outside. On my wife's cars, the last three of them, all different makes and models, I get a faint smell of antifreeze when pulled into the garage and parked after it has been run. I had the last one checked twice and the dealer assured me that there was no problem. I wonder if it is just off gas from the overflow? I have never had this smell with my super duty.
