Need to rebuild stock injectors on stock truck: Suggestions on where to send them?
Hey guys- My '01 F350 probably needs new injectors. She has 270K miles on her (I bought the truck at 230K but pretty sure original sticks) and last winter, I had a hell of a time getting her started when temps were below 50 (yes, I'm in central Texas so cold to me is anything 40 and below!) Even in the summer time, she runs rough from a cold start for a few min or two. Switching to synthetic oil help a bunch but I really don't want to go through the trouble this winter of being stranded anywhere. BTW, all the glowplugs test out good (even pulled a bank to verify) and the block heater still needs to be plugged in below 50 to start. That's why I'm thinking time for new injectors.
The truck is stock and I usually tow 4-5000lbs (my boat and small trailers). Every once in a while, I'll tow 12,000lbs but that is a very rare thing. I was thinking staying with stock injectors so I dont' have to fool with tuning or exhaust...unless you guy think different on upgrading the injectors.
Let me know where I should send the injectors in the next couple weeks to get them rebuilt and what kind of rebuild I need.
Thanks in advance.
Rex

You may find it better to go this route: Stock Injector Set - AD - Riffraff Diesel Performance
Full Force is well known for quality injectors and you will have a great vendor that stands behind their products.

Bonaza- Thanks for the advice but I did everything to ensure it wasn't a glow plug issue. Replaced the relay (kept the old as a spare since it was working) and verified gp currents and voltages were correct for each bank.
Woodnthings- Thanks for mentioning Riffraff. I know injector folks have come and gone over the years so just wasn't sure was the most current.
