metal clanking ??

I have noticed in the last two days that i have a metal clanking noise coming from the back passenger side wheel i think, its a very very slow speeds. anything over 2mph it goes away. I can shift it into N and just let the truck roll a little and hear it. sounds like metal is clanking together. going to get under it this weekend, any ideas?

I had a clank that drove me nuts until I figured out it was that stupid sleeve for the trailer hitch.

Is yours a job1 2011? We have the 2" receiver so you won't have the reducer.
The 2.5" receiver (reducer needed) was 2012+ or maybe even 2011 job 2.

Late Job 1 trucks had the 2.5"... I know I had three 2011's from a March 2010 Build, a August 2010 Build, and December 2010 Build. Only the first one had the 2" receiver. (It also had the aluminum differential, which the other two didn't)

I used to have it on my truck. In the parking lot going real slow I could hear the metal on metal. Leaned out and had my head looking underneath and noticed a piece touching the near the wheel and had it removed. Haven't heard it in over 2 years.

That is right about where the heat sheild on your airbags is at, check that, it could be bent or a little loose.

Mine is a 11, July 2010 build I do have a 2 1/2 receiver. But I got a new hitches when I went from a 150 to the 250 so I don't need the sleeve anyway.

I was under it on Sunday didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Didn't drive the truck on Saturday then Sunday driving it all day, heard nothing today nothing so I don't know maybe something was in there and fell out.

On my 89 250 I had a that metal splash guard around the rotor rust and rubbed on the inside of the wheel, so I checked for that but they all looked good. So who knows.
