Oil Friction Modifier - do you use one?
There are couple of well known friction modifiers out there such as Rev-x and Archoil.
I used the additive on the 6.0 and it made a world of difference.
Is anyone using an oil friction modifier in their 6.7?
If so, has it made any noticeable difference?

Man o man I've seen some whoppers before, but the sales pitch on those bottles of 'Friction Modifiers' (See Snake Oil) takes the cake!
Those big ole techno terms and fancy site must mean it works...and only $24 per qt!
What a bargain! ROFL!
In all seriousness:
Stay within the mfgers guidelines for lubrication and intervals and your motors and equipment will be just fine.
Take the magic elixir money and buy some booze if you want warm and fuzzy feelings.

I own a 6.0 and the archoil helped it alot. On the 6.7 I dont see any advantage to use it. Now the archoil 6200 would be of benefit because it is adding lubrication of the injector through the fuel. It's good stuff. Your 6.7 is already quiet as in injector knock. But that stuff helped my 6.0 alot on the knock. With the diesel fuel we get now days, the lubrication has been stripped out of it. It just adds it back.

I have never ran any oil additive. I've always heard that quality oil / filters were plenty enough. In my late teens / early twenties, I knew folks that were running "Slick 50, they were rebuilding their engine with the same frequency as the guys running plain old motor oil, mostly conventional, synthetic hadn't really caught on at the time, these were mostly gas engines, I just don't really see where it would be beneficial with Diesel engines either, just my opinion though......

On a separate thread there was mention of the Ford factory using an oil that should not be changed out earlier than recommended.
The allusion in that post was that the factory oil contains an additive not available in they typical synthetic or syn/blend oil.
And while everyone has an opinion, some have actual personal experience with the nanoborate lubrication technology additive.
Which was and is the request of this post.

The additive is supposedly Motorcraft XL-17 and it is supposedly put in at the factory to keep the typewriter noise away from new truck buyers. It is also supposedly put in with the factory oil for the Mustang GT's as well. For people that have the typewriter noise after an oil change, addition of this additive has been recommended.

We don't get enough reports on increased fuel mileage increase to try and advertise with it, but what we do hear back is that it helps lower the operating temps (especially on the big rigs)... You may see fuel mileage boost by a couple tenths, but we don't "guarantee" anything. I can't speak for any other companies, but all our products are completely safe to use in any of the new diesels.
