OT:Taking a long trip, Keep an eye out for me.

A little off topic, but I know the brotherhood likes to look out for one another, so I thought I would let everyone know that I'll be hitting the highway tomorrow pulling my camper 3000+ miles from Orlando Fl to Oregon. If you see me broke down on the shoulder please feel free to stop. It's a lonely feeling being stuck somewhere all by yourself.
It's just my dog and I, & she doesn't like to get her paws greasy.

The truck & camper are pretty well prepared for the trip. Better than I am... I hate long days of driving all alone

I'll be taking my time to optimize fuel economy & I'm shooting for 500-650 miles a day to keep my sanity & to stay well rested. I have some camp grounds along the route picked out, but if the mood strikes me I'll sleep at a truck stop and shower in the camper for a night or two.

Here is a map of my route. Lord willing I'll have a safe and uneventful trip.
I have AE and many spare parts and a bottle of scotch if need be

Thanks Guys.

Tomorrow afternoon. I was hoping to get to Chattanooga before I stop for sleep. Not sure if I'll make it. I'm getting a later start than originally planned.

Not sure when the last time you were in Atlanta but Friday afternoon is a driving nightmare. You really want to be here and gone by 3pm. Anything after that and it's 3 to 4 hours of bumper to bumper. To make it worse we are in a weather pattern of everyday thunderstorms. It should start to clear up by 7ish.
Not trying to bum you out, just giving you a heads up.

Thanks. That may change things.
I hate being stuck in traffic with a heavy trailer.

That's one heck of a long drive with your load! We recently took our camper for its maiden voyage on a long (not nearly as long as yours) drive to Yellowstone. Aside from losing the alternator on the way back, (minor 2.5 hour trip delay) the PSD performed outstandingly. Safe travels, and may He watch over you and your equipment the entire voyage.

If you ever decide to take the Southern route I am just off the I-10 in Tucson if you get into trouble. (with the truck that is, if you get into trouble with the scotch you're on your own).

Travel safely my friend. Your route doesn't bring you through Oklahoma, so I will just send up a word to the man upstairs to keep you safe during your travels.

Have a nice trip Frank. Take your time and enjoy it. Its always nice if we're not in a hurry. What city in Oregon? Good Elk hunting in the eastern part.

Enjoy the road Franko! Don't forget that covenient Mason jar to save a stop once in a while.

If you get by Bonneville Sept 4-9 and have time, World of Speed.

Post up your location once in a while. And a pic of your lunch, that's often entertaining.

Good Luck Franko72! I've driven some of your route, but not all. That looks like Medford is your destination - pretty country, and home of the Yellow Tape. Winters are tame, but summers are wild - it gets pretty hot.

It also looks very close to Grants Pass - it's hard to tell from that map. Whatever the case, that's pretty country. A nice drive will get you to Highway 101 on the California/Oregon coast - and that is nothing like driving the Florida coast.
