3.5 liter EcoBoost TSB

Ford has issued a TSB on the EcoBoost engine in the F150, but not on the Explorer. Same engine though. The problem? The timing chain stretches and rattles at startup. Check YouTube for video.

Ford knows which engine goes into each vehicle. The engines involved were not put into the explorers. We had a recall a few years ago that involved injectors. We had direction as to each VIN and which injector/s were involved for that vehicle.

Aaaah, same engine. Per Ford dealer technician, and he says he's seeing the problem in the Explorer Eco-Boost, but no TSB from Ford yet.

As per this senior master Ford tech, its not the same issue. If the defective parts were installed in the explorer engines, they will amend the tsb.
