Thx for clarifying Cleveland,

The frog is the stamped piece that moves and holds onto the ball.

Anybody know if I can remove the frog part and put a new one in?
It had to be installed somehow

There are units that spin off on top. Your latch on top actually screws/unscrews for adjustment when latch is up.
Here's a short video.

At this point, I would be looking to replace that tongue. I know Tractor Supply sells them.

I will attempt to alter my routine for now. The tongue part is the cheap part. It's the r&r clean up and certified welder that are expensive.
Thanks the video. Next time I am at the camper I will see if mine spins. From the looks of mine it won't. Ya never know though

I've been experiencing that with a 28' enclosed trailer I use frequently. At worst I have to pull the pin and ease the truck forward until the ball mount slides out of the truck's receiver. Then, of course, the ball comes out, so I place something under to cushion the fall. Stupid, I know, but sometimes you're too damn tired to fight it after a 20+ hour day.
