EGR Delete VS EGR Cooler

I'm trying to decide which one to go with. Does the EGR Cooler take care of the common problems cause by the Egr of course I know if it fails it won't help. I just read different posts saying the delete might flash check engine lights and codes. Can I gets some personal experiences and techs to wage in on this one please?

Just picked mine up from getting a Bulletproof EGR cooler installed. For me, I would rather not do a block off that requires a dedicated software flash to turn off the CEL. On top of that, should my state decide to add emissions testing requirements for my truck, I have all such equipment in place.

Here is one brief article discussing some pros and cons... just happens to be from the shop that did mine.

It can never leak if it isn't there.

When I got my truck a couple months ago, the previous owner had put in a BulletProof EGR cooler. Here is a link from their website which is also educational. What they say make sense to me. As always with a vendor, keep in mind that they are selling something.

That said, there seems to be consensus here that something should probably be done, at the very least you do your coolant flushes etc. Read the 6.0L tech forum intro 'buying a used 6.0L' by Bismic.

A plugged oil cooler is the root cause of egr cooler failures. Proper coolant maint. is the cure.

^^---I found this to be an informative, complete and unbiased article. Bullet Proof Diesel sells a well made part with a lifetime warranty. I would also add there are other suppliers on the net who are less expensive but I haven't seen one back up there work like that.
