I find it histerical watching them try to park at a crowded home depot, we call it the quad K turn and half the truck still sticks out the spot.

Acctually, back of a long bed sc to the front of the plow is about the same as short bed cc and the front of plow. Now what do you have to say? And my last 3 trucks were long bed regular cab, even shorter. I have never had to say my bed is to big, to small if anything. How bout you. I`m done on this topic. I have no problem driving a big truck.

I am fully aware that these trucks are used for far more work than plowing. In a number of situations an 8ft bed could be useful. For MY business and purpose, when a longer bed would be needed I have my trailer. During the winter while plowing a 6ft bed is more than plenty for shovels, salt bags and single stage snow throwers with fuel cans. The full four doors are ALWAYS required for employees.

I was discussing this with the gents whom also do plowing.

1/2 ton trucks are not work trucks anymore anyhow. 3/4 ton or larger makes it a work truck.

Thats funny, because 1/2 tons now are more capable then they have ever been. higher payload, higher tow ratings, more HP/TQ.

Half tons are good for picking up your kids from soccer and getting milk from the grocery store. Not much more

Funny, the gears on my 150 are larger than most 250/350s. I have to agree that slightly older factory 150s are meant for light duty work. My 150 is anything but factory. Was rebuilt and upgraded to handle the abuse my work throws at it.

BTW, I also own a 250 for heavier work duties.

A point to add, new trucks are listed as 6 3/4 bed, so really you are talking only about 1 foot and inches for a difference.

Have 2 Supercabs 8' beds now, will be going to 2015 crewcab's with the 6 3/4 bed soon. If they were not being used for plowing, would have gone with the 8' as well, but plowing with a cclb is too long.

The Supercab is almost as good as a regular cab for rear adult seating. I also pack the back seat with irrigation supplies and there is no room for anything else. Interior space is be coming just as important as the bed space.

This is coming from someone who has owned nothing but supercabs as well (5 of them)

I look forward to the switch.

LOL, obviously you have not had to ride in the back seat of a supercab for any length of time (more than 15 min) or you would not say that. OR the people you haul around in it are under 5'5" LOL.
