This is why mine came off. Four camping trips after coming from factory. One to Pigeon Forge, Tenn in January. Thank goodness for cold weather. Found this when we returned.

Update

My wife says that I'll research/shop for 6 months before I decide on a pair of tennis shoes to buy. She's right, I am pretty **** about purchases. So, after many hours of research and a bunch of hand wringing, I made a decision. I bought the BFG commercial TA 235/85r16's. I just couldn't justify the extra $140 per tire for the XPS Ribs. I probably only tow about1500-2000 miles per year, so I think these tires will serve me well. I almost went with a set of Maxxis ST's but decided that I would be nervous every mile that I towed with ST tires of any brand. As a bonus I am no longer limited to 65MPH. Actually 65 is my normal comfy towing speed, but sometimes I like to gain speed down a hill if there is a climb ahead.

I ran BFG Commercial TAs for a few years and now have run Michelin XPS Ribs (traded up for free during the recall). I have no complaints with either tire. I watch my tire pressure and keep my tires covered when not in use (stored outside) and haven't had any issues. I have a buddy that insists on buying the cheapest trailer tires for his camper and I personally have helped him changed 2 blowouts and he has had 2 more when I wasn't with him (in the 4 years we have camped together). He's a slow learner.

I'll probably start another thread on this, but here is a picture of an apparently rare Goodyear G-114 blowout.

On our way to Myrtle Beach, 300 miles into the trip, 60 miles on this leg, 21,500 miles on the tires.
2 weeks out of the 5 year warranty by date code, but under by 4 months of time of purchase.
No warning, heard-felt a thump, TPMS started going off, looked in the mirrors just in time to see shrapnel from the tire and trailer.

That stinks! I hope they cover you based on date of purchase instead of date code. This will be a good test of just how good their warranty is...

In looking at your pics, it would seem they have redesigned them a bit as mine look different.

Ah well, I guess even the best fall down once in a while...

Be sure to really check them all.

I thought I had just the one but turned out I had one on the other side it just didn't come apart yet.
