Auto or Manual Trans?

Auto or Manual Trans?
Hey I was wanting to replace my super cab 6.0L with a crew cab, and I found decent crew cab but it has a manual transmission. I love the Torque Shift and therefore hesitate to go with a ZF6. To all you fellow 6.0L enthusiasts, what do you say? Are the manuals as good as or better than the autos? More fun to drive or less so? It's a matter of opinion, I know. But what's your opinion?

I've had both. For towing the manual trans is unbeatable for controlling engine RPM's, gear selection for pulling long grades and controlling descent RPM and speed etc. I recall stop and go traffic making me wish I had an auto though. It is all a matter of preference as you mentioned.
If the price is good and you want the manual....go for it
Good Luck

The manual is going to be better if you're going to be towing heavy, pulling long grades, and not be stuck in traffic. Manual trans is the worst once you get into stop and go traffic for any period of time, especially in something like these trucks. The automatic is also easier to sell if you need to consider that.

Thanks for all the responses! You guys are great!
I'm not new to the manual world, as I've had about 3 or 4 vehicles that were manual, including an old body style 7.3L. It was great, but being ready to throw the shifter all the time especially in traffic did surely get old. My use of the truck includes very little towing and it appears that would be the only time a manual would be superior to the auto. All things considered, I guess I'd have to say I'd prefer to stick with the automatic. I'll keep my eyes open. Thanks again for the input.

I should actually let you fellows know that I did find a crew cab automatic, but it happened to be a 6.4L. My plan was to get a 6.0L but when I found this one I decided to go for it. I'll still stop by the 6.0L section from time to time but I'll be around the 6.4L most of the time. It was great "meeting" you all!
