I know what you mean about the realtor. How much did they get out of you? I think ourw was 7%.

Ours was at 6%. These guys were pretty good about marketing, and the owner of the agency lives next door... He had a vested interest in finding a good neighbor, lol.

 

If we ever sell again (Which I hope never happens), we might try doing it ourselves. Just too damn expensive!

 

Morning SD...Happy Tuesday!!! The last two properties I sold...I sold myself...no agents fee!!! The last one...I got 12 gee whizzers more than the realtor said he would get...and...no commission!!!

 

I sometimes wish I would have tried to sell myself... But, I didn't want to deal with the broom on every little nitpick thing. The realtors earned this one in dealing with her.

 

It can be tough...but...the houses were in a town with very low taxes. I've also got a guy very interested in my father's house...if I can get my free loading brother a place to live!!!

Current realtor asking price around here is 6%...just ask and they'll drop to 5%...work them over a bit and you can get 4%.

 

Not much competition around here, they have a good racket going.

Just makes me sick how much I've paid out in the last 6 years, then to only sell for $10K more than I bought it for... really sucks. I think I'll stay out of real estate for a while.

 

Not easy making money in houses anymore...unless you keep them for a long time!!!
