Sounds like a good idea assuming your taking it to get cash at a recycler. I have some left over exhaust to get rid of. Will have to wait for a decent pile though.
That was the plan. I invest about $80 or so for NAPA to magnaflux and clean it. They didn't tell me it had a hole and after my step dad took it back, they said "oh its finr, you can use it".. it has a hole about the size of a quarter. I'm not sure where I can take it though, we have a few local scrap yards but I don't know if it's able to accept a block and the guts.

They do so long as all the oil and other fluids are out of it.
General Metals in Fife will take a whole car if they are fluid free
and sometimes even with fluids.
You have valley recycling right next to you, no idea how well they pay.
Been plugging away at this thing
I'm thinking that's the place on West Valley hwy? We have been there a few times but I don't know legalities on taking engines in. Or if they won't accept the internals or whatever. I could ask my brother, he's been in the block scrapping biz before. He used to strip the parts off the block before they sent them to a scrap yard.
Eh, it doesn't have any fluids, those were drained long ago. There might be a slight residue due to NAPA screwing up at doing their job... they were supposed to clean it, and magnaflux it. When I got it back it looked like they sprayed with down with a hose then took my money.

That is too bad, How big and where is that hole? I have seen
people plug non-stress locations and run them. But that depends
on where it is at.
The hole leads into the valley under the intake, right by the hole for the distributor. I'm betting someone could plug it, I think the only thing would be oil pressure. However, it's not worth it for us to keep.
