This was the second time today I had to log in. Even though I clicked "remember me". The site must be glitching.

The Impala is done, I made a new cab corner and welded it on an '05 F-150. Then I got busy making the frame stands for the '49 F-1 project. Most of the parts are cut, drilled and tacked together. It should turn out really nice. I'll get pictures when I'm done.

Insomnia sucks. I went and laid down at 2200 because I was exhausted. I finally just got up and decided to play around on here for a minute. Hopefully, I'll be tired enough to fall asleep before too long.

Good morning all! Have an interview with a Govt. Contracter soon. Or at least I was told I was. This would be a good thing.

Hope you all have a great day!

Being a Gov contractor all depends on who the prime and subcontract company are, and how far down the chain from the prime are you hired.

What country are you going to, whats the rotation 60/30, 90/30, 1 year with 30 days off after 6 months in theater? And the all important BASE PAY....then things get interesting like.....

Any hazard duty uplift, base +70% of base was the norm in Afghanistan and Iraq. Do you get gov rate perdiem for where you are going? If not, is lodging and meals covered if you do not get perdiem?

Can you receive Post Hardship Differential and Danger Pay at the same time?

Benefits? Health care, life insurance, 401 input % matching? If its a year long tour do you get a 10% of base bonus after contract completion? Uniforms/body armor/weapons provided? required training provided at no cost and travel to training, and are you getting paid while training?

Any stipend for travel expenses? Over time, days off accrued? Transportation to and from live site to works site provided? Current in country thread level, is there a need for up armor transportation?

R.O.E. (A BIG ONE) IN MY BOOK. Also ask about "Individual Replacement Deployment Operations" (IRDO) training, now at Ft Bliss. Do you have to go? Are the medical requirements covered by the company?

Any questions e mail me, do not let them BS you.

This is stateside. In fact it is more local than not.

Anyone close have a s&w m&p 40? I've never shot one.

Still some questions to ask are in all that other stuff. Good deal on is being a state side job.

S&W M&P 40...Glock 22 (I had to to State Dept pistol qual with the G22).... both close to a 45 as far as stopping power. Of course I was shooting a Ak later on that day... so my memory is cloudy.

Good read here. Don?t buy a Smith & Wesson M&P .40 without reading this review!

But always another side of the coin. Texas DPS Ditches S&W M&P Handguns Over Reliability Issues - The Truth About Guns

And then flip it again. Investors - Press Releases - Smith & Wesson

I have a Beretta .40. ...but that's as close to it as I can get. Mine is the same frame as the military M9, just chambered for .40 cal.

Well, today is making me think long and hard about wrenching in general.

One impatient customer has had her Durango apart for two days now waiting on the e-brake cable. It was wrong when we got it here.

Another pain in rear bumper showed up. It's an Avalanche. This thing was junk when we got it and every time it shows up for a repair, I contemplate suicide again.

We just got an Eclipse yesterday. I Begged him not to buy it. I sent the helper to the junkyard to pick up parts and it comes back with a dead hole.

If it could possibly go wrong today, it is. I just want to go lock myself in my shop and cut, grind and weld for the rest of the day.

Hang in there buddy, beats cleaning porta potties, I recon. Mind you, I have the utmost respect to the folks that do that, I just do not think I could do it.

I am really tired of being gone and or OTR all the time... I am never going to get any projects done, let along get to enjoy them.
