Just got back from a 3 day weekend at Rancho Alegre. Good training session there and fun learning. Now to apply what I learned on the Cubs. Luckily, the same material will be helpful at work.

No, I'm still at the Cub Scout level, but hopefully better prepared to work with scouts and parents. Was great to get outdoors for a weekend. The 2nd half of the course is at the end of Sept near our old stomping ground, Frazier Park.

Say what???

Wasn't it last weekend up to Mt Whitney? The weekend before somewhere near Fresno? Oh, did I miss the ones before that in the San Bernadino Mtns, and before that in Tehachapi?

Aren't you the guru of weekend travels!

Lolol, now im thoroughly confused.

The closest i every got to being a Cub Scout was getting the manuals from Goodwill as a kid.

Good to see you have stuck with it and trying to advance!👍

It's a good organization that helped me a ton as a youth. Time for me to pass it down.

I was a cub scout once, and a Webelo, never made it past that as we had a choice to continue that or go into Little League baseball, we both chose baseball.

Sean, as the resident traveling man are a standard school sized backpack all right for carry on luggage?

i am helping a friend out who is moving to Bend,Oregon by driving the 26' uhaul truck up there and flying home.... traveling light, couple change of clothes, and a couple magazines (need to catch up on the 7 month back log of diesel power mag), and a billfold.... no keys for home, no liquids, and no pocket knife ( will feel naked with out my buck 110 in my pocket)

i don't think there will be any issue, but last time i traveled by air i was 12 and it was a pre 9/11 world....( the year was 1999... the place, Iowa)

on a side note... i dont quite understand how a direct flight from Portland, OR to Burbank,CA can cost 400 bucks! but a flight from Redmond,OR to Seattle,Wa with a one hr layover in Seattle,WA then fly to Burbank,CA can cost only 120 bucks.....

the more and more i know about traveling.... the more and more i like to drive my own truck....

..
Justin, yes the backpack will fit in overhead just fine. I'd bring the pocket knife and any other goodies you need on the drive up and then ship them back to your home before the flight. You're a smart man not checking luggage!

Check in from your home base on the computer, get there early, expect flight delays and you'll not be disappointed.

Take pics for our 'where am I' threads. N cal could use a bump!
