Don't blame you on preferring to drive. As for costs, I just booked BUR to SEA last night. There is a pretty wide variance depending on time of day and direct vs. layover. I was able to go a 11ish on a Saturday for $108 per head. My return at 1ish on Monday was $180. Closer to $100 if I wanted to get up a 4 am for the 6 am flight.

For your flight--you will go through TSA security and have to remove belt and shoes, so prepare in advance. Hat and jacket and everything in the pockets. Watch how it works and you can do it smoothly.

As I am prone to running off at the mouth, I suggest you try not to. TSA agents might realize most of this is BS, but don't suggest that to them. Likewise, flight crews don't want to debate anything either, and are most happy to have people removed if the look like trouble. Being visibly drunk, even if you are not mouthing off and are otherwise doing everything right will land you back in the lobby also.

Enjoy your trip and good luck with it!

yeah ill make all attempts to keep myself in check.... i like the idea of flight i.e. small planes, but not really into large groups crammed into a beer can... i like driving haha... i can be as mouthy as i want.. no one really cares, or be a passenger and be as drunk as i want!

figured id ask a few things out here about flying as i know most all of ya guys travel more by air then i think i ever will. like i had maybe mentioned its been 15 years since i last flown... things change.

and most importantly get myself checked into the september all topic!

Your mags will keep you busy during the flight. Stuff some iPod music in your ears and the trip will fly by.... Expensive snacks on board, so bring your own nuts or chips.

Water is $4 a bottle, so hydrate well before the airport terminal. Luckily toilets are still free, but dang few drinking fountains.

Yea, do not bring water or other liquids--they get tossed at the security check. Plenty of $4 water and soft drinks after security, you can bring those on. I always have good luck getting plenty of free diet coke on board though--that is still available.

Morning all!

Did you guys catch wind of the trip David and I took this past weekend to Alamo Mountain? I found a back entrance to Hungry Valley SVRA that I didnt know about and saw it leaded to Alamo Mtn. We decided to head back together and ended up camping at the base. Great drive. 4x4 not required, but recommended. I would say clearance is required.

Thx for sharing Trey. It's beautiful up there. The campsite was still open with an outhouse? May have to check it out. Did you see the Jeep trail heading down the hill to the west?

Check out what, the campsite or the out house?

There were two camp sites with outhouses, I liked the second better.

"Most sought after year"
"Similar to a sportsmobile" <--- I laughed

Reminds me of the old saw, "It ain't for sale, but it can be bought".

I think some people make a hobby out of posting stuff on Craigslist, thinking along the lines of the above adage. After all, CL is free, takes only seconds to renew a listing once you've written it. And who knows? There might be someone out there looking for just that thing. We laugh at his silly overpricing which bothers him not at all.

Does a creative listing on Craigslist make one a published author? I think technically it does.
