I am new to ford and to diesels. I just purchased a 2006 F350 crew cab long bed with the 6.0 and 70,000 miles. There are some mods that are obvious like a Banks ram air intake, a sinister diesel coolant filter, Banks exhaust ( I believe a 4" system with a 5" tip), and a Banks econmind tuner with a Banks IQ readout. Those are the ones that are brutally obvious. I have read the posts about head studs but am still not positive I am looking at the right thing. So my question, is this a head stud? Am I looking at the right thing? This picture is taken from the drivers side just behind the air restriction gauge and it's looking through a clamp. Thanks in advance.

Congratulations on the new truck. That looks like a head stud to me.

The one showing through the middle of the hose clamp is a stud, but it's not a head stud, it's a FICM hold down stud. If you look at that small piece of wiring harness below the clamp (for the glow plugs) the bolt just to the left of that appears to be a standard head bolt to me.

I see it now, the head bolt is just to the left of the stud.
Good catch Tim
