Got paid but damn computer is still broke...LOL

 

Welcome back Don. You havent missed much. Sucks the computer is still broken.

 

Yeah it's a weird problem...

The monitor turns off after 10 seconds..

I told her to replace it and she brought it to a computer store to have them check it out.. He said it worked..

She brings it home and it didn't work..

I say maybe it's the card .. I bring it home and it works fine...

Bring it back to her monitor and it doesn't work...

 

Could be a bad cable Don or a bad port on the computer.

 

I tried another cable too..

If the port was bad it would not have worked at my house

 

Then it must be the monitor. Monitors are pretty cheap these days and the quality is pretty good. A 22" widescreen monitor is around 200 bucks. Alot cheaper then a new computer.

 

She doesn't need anything fancy

They have used ones on CL for $25

 

That wasnt for a fancy one Don. I just saw a 24 incher on Best buys website for under 190.

 

She doesn't want to spend anything...

She is happy with her 5 or 6 year old vista machine ..LOL

 

Sounds like she is going to have to spend some money if she wants to keep using her computer.

 

Yeah and it already cost her $100....LOL

 

Sounds like it will cost her a few more bucks no matter what.
