Header swap

Hey guys, I just added a second Expedition to my collection. I picked up a 1998 Expy for a great deal and was going to get a set of headers since it has a cold air intake and Gibson cat back exhaust already, but the guy I bought it from said that he believes that the motor was originally a 5.4L but swapped to a 4.6L and there's no obvious badging to identify which it is quickly. I haven't had time to look it over too much to pull numbers off the motor to look it up to be sure, but my question is will shorty headers for the 5.4L work on a 4.6L and vise versa? Thanks for any help.

Heads should be the same, I imagine. So they should but up to the heads no problem but IIRC, the 5.4 is taller and wider so you might have figment issues.

Ditto that, they will bolt right up, the head pattern is the same.
