1967 Ford F600 brake system question
Hello,
i am from germany and since on year the owner of a 1967 F600 truck which i want to restore.
The truck was a former army truck equipped with a pelikan II bucket lift.
I received the truck from a local army surplus dealer as a chassis cab and i want to put a dump body on it.
To restore the truck i need some informations to the brake system.
The brake system seems to be unique because it is air over hydraulic like on a duce and a half M35 army truck .
I bought the original 3-Books 1968 Ford truck shop manual for restauration but there are only normal hydraulic and air brakes described.
The truck has an air compressor, air gauge, and an air tank installed. The brake system locks pretty stock. Seems not to be a conversion. The brake booster looks exact like an air pack form a M35 2.5ton truck.
Does the single brake master cylinder from a 67-72 truck interchange with one from a 73 and newer truck?
Does also interchange the brake shoes, drums and wheel cylinders with the next generation 73 and newer trucks?
